Scheduling...

Wow! Who knew that scheduling and time conflicts would be so difficult? I work full-time Monday-Friday and thought that I had everything worked out with a preceptor. Turns out our schedules were not going to work with one another. I couldn't attend Monday classes nor Wednesday and/or Thursday clinical. What was I to do. I contacted one of the professors that teaches the weekend program and unfortunately she already had another student with her. I contacted one of the clinical instructors. She, too, was unable to work with me this semester. I have been searching and trying to figure out what I was to do and how I would get this practicum experience to work out this fall. Finally!!! After discussing this with Dr. Anderson and asking around a little more, I found an instructor who is willing and interested in letting me work with her. I have not started yet, but I do look forward to this experience.

Glad that you were able to figure it out....what will you be doing? Sometimes arrangements made last minute turn out to be some of the best! Best wishes!

Hang in there! Glad you finally found someone. I told my preceptor "yea, mondaysa are great" and i had gone to visit with her on break from my class that goes on from 9 to 5 every monday. duh!! It all worked out, she said that Thursdays were better for her anyway. Take a deep breath and have a nice strawberry margarita and everything will be better in the morning! :-)

Kay,
Would love to join you for a strawberry margarita, but you will just have to drink an extra one for me. With everything else going on, my husband and I are thrilled to be expecting our first child!!!

Congrats on your new little one! When are you due? I believe Kathie is doing Maternal/Child. If you are due to deliver during the semester maybe she'll have some students in there to help! ;-)
Don't worry about the margarita, I'll handle it for you! Keep us informed!

Congratulations Shara! What wonderful news!
Well, I can certainly identify with you for I had the same problem last semester in Clinical Practice I. I wound up asking a nurse educator where I work to be my preceptor and everything worked out fine.
I know you'll have a wonderful experience. Looking forward to hearng all about your adventures!
Janice.
